Sally Balick
Ever since Sally Balick was a child, she has had a love for making Art. Her greatest satisfaction is found painting en plein air as she draws her inspiration from the light and colours of nature. She received a B of Arts with University Honors in Painting from Carnegie Mellon University. She studied Painting as an exchange student at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts d'Aix-enProvence and French at L'Institut Catholique de Paris in France. After her university studies, Sally taught high school Art and French before moving to France.
She has exhibited her paintings in the USA, France, Canada and the UK. A native of Cape May, New Jersey, Sally has been living since 2004 with her husband, Maurice, and five children in France
Sally will teach the foundations of painting en plein air with a focus on organising the composition, simplifying the shapes, finding the value and colour relationships, establishing the light and shadow shapes, painting the atmosphere and achieving colour harmony with a limited palette. July in Southwest France is the season of sunflowers, hay bales and freshly harvested wheat fields.
